Only trees clearly showing a sound trunk, free of any signs of
advanced decay or other structural weakness can be climbed
by a trained arborist with rope and harness.
When invasive ivy growth has taken over up along the stem
and any hidden weak points are impossible to be detected,
then using a "cherry-picker" is the only way of safe access into the tree.
